Is StudyCompass free?

Yes, StudyCompass is free to use. The app shows ads, which you can remove with a one-time in-app purchase. There's also a tip jar in the app – we'd be incredibly grateful for any support, even small amounts make a big difference for continued development. 💛

Do I need an account or registration?

No. StudyCompass works completely without an account and without logging into your university system. All data is stored locally on your device. This means no login errors or locked-out sessions, which are common problems with other solutions.

Are my grades synced automatically from my university?

No. Since StudyCompass deliberately does not require a login to your university system, you enter grades and exam results yourself. In return, the app works independently and reliably – no login issues or breakages caused by university system changes. Courses, exam dates, and registration deadlines are automatically loaded from your university's public data.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. After the initial data load, you can use the app fully offline. Calendar, grades, ECTS – everything is available without an internet connection.

Which universities are supported?

StudyCompass supports over 43 universities, universities of applied sciences, and teacher education colleges in Austria and Germany. See the full list on our universities page.

My university is not listed – can I suggest it?

Yes! Just send us an email at contact@studycompass.app with your university name. We'll check if integration is possible.

Can I use StudyCompass before enrolling?

Yes. You can browse courses and plan your semester even before you are officially enrolled – ideal for high school graduates and first-year students.

How is my data protected?

Your data stays on your device. There is no registration, no cloud sync, and no sharing of study data. Learn more in our privacy policy.

Can I export or transfer my data?

Yes. You can export your data in the app settings and import it on another device.

Which devices does StudyCompass support?

StudyCompass is available for iOS and Android. You can find the app on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
